Position: Staff Quality Assurance Engineer (#055049E) | Location: Boston, MA

Description:

Train and mentor junior SQA engineers. Develop test methodologies, automation, and QA functions for existing and new products from conceptual stages to successful production delivery. Work independently on all phases of QA cycle including test specification, staging, manual and automated testing, test infrastructure development and regression and release documentation. Support UL and EN regulatory compliance. Create QA test tools including modeling, analysis and simulation experience is a strong plus. Work collaboratively and effectively as part of a small team on fast paced projects that have tight deadlines. Support manufacturing life cycle for new products from NPI to production run and incremental software release of functionality. Support technical support team and customers. Perform other relevant duties as needed.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field plus two (2) years of experience pre or post master’s in QA life cycle in networking industry and successful track record of delivering projects on time. Alternatively, the employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field plus five (5) years of QA life cycle experience in networking industry and successful track record of delivering projects on time. Additionally, must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some combination of skills and abilities: Previous experience developing production quality product communication systems involving wireless, radio, security and mesh networking technologies. Solid understanding of release management and defect tracking processes and ability to continually embrace and enhance existing QA functions, processes, procedures and hands-on proficiency with modern communication test equipment and radio-based systems tools. Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and high level of proficiency in related engineering software. Highly developed analytical skills and the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.  Ability to adapt to change well and quickly ramp up on new technologies, applications and testing standards. Solid understanding of release management and defect tracking processes and embracing and enhancing existing QA functions, processes, and procedures. Hands-on proficiency with modern communication test equipment and radio-based systems tools. Experience with tracking, assessing and reporting product quality per approved methods during development and post cycles, and coverage analysis. Excellent professional communication skills and appropriate grammar as related to utilizing communication tools including but not limited to business correspondence, email, and telephone calls. Superior organizational and time management skills and ability to efficiently and effectively handle a myriad of duties simultaneously while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
